The MacRobert Hall, Tarland AB34 4YL

The Tarland Food and Music Festival has had musical links with the Dee Don Ceilidh Collective for a number of years. This year, there will be a Traditional Music Session led by Jen Clark and Karin Paterson. Jen plays dulcimer and guitar. She grew up in Aberdeen deeply immersed in the rich singing and music traditions of North East Scotland. After her early days playing with the Battlefield Band she spent many years in Australia, where she has guested at many of their traditional music festivals. She has very recently moved back to live in Aboyne. Karin comes from Keith, where she was taught fiddle by the highly respected Hebbie Gray. She has played at many ceilidhs and concerts in the North East over the years. Karin and Jen met at the very first Edinburgh Folk Festival and formed an immediate bond playing jigs, reels, marches and airs, and their joy at playing together is evident as soon as you hear them. Come along and join in with traditional Scottish music and the occasional song.
